Overview

Anaesthesia department of GMERS Medical College Valsad has staff of four M.D. Anaesthetists. On an average 500 patients are given anaesthesia per month. We give all types of anaesthesia like general anaesthesia, spinal anaesthesia, epidural blocks as and when required. We have four working anaesthesia trolleys including one Dolex Ohmeda ( Astina/5) and one dragger (fabius), both with ventilator and tech vaporizer. All patients are given anaesthesia with complete monitoring (multipara monitor) for major, minor, supramajor, planned and emergency surgeries. Post operative care is given in well equipped recovery room.

Facilities

The department of Anesthesiology aims at training medical students and to provide quality care to patients.

The experienced faculty members manage the department and impart knowledge and clinical skills to the medical graduates. The attached teaching Hospital has 4 Operation Theaters which are well equipped with all anaesthesia equipments along with ICU care facilities to enable students to have deep insight into the clinical problems related to the specialty. Facilities to carry out routine OT operations along with 24 hours emergency services are available. The department has facilities to take up all type of Anaesthesia procedures and resuscitative measures.
